Exciting news . . .
I’m pregnant! About 12 weeks along. I have been sick as a dog. I thought I had morning sickness with Dimitri, but turns out it was a fairly mild case. This pregnancy, not so much. I have been sick 24 hours a day, and it’s even worse in the evenings. (With D, I usually felt better by early afternoon). Due to the heightened symptoms, I keep thinking it’s a girl. But, then...
Today we took Buckley to the vet, and Dimitri enjoyed walking him on his leash after we got home. He also likes to take my finger and walk me around the house. It’s the little bit of exercise I’m getting these days.
We’re entering a super-autonomous phase, where my formerly agreeable son’s two favorite words are “No” and “Mine.” You can see him...

TGIF
When I came home from work last night, Dimitri ran to our room and put on his great-grandfather Dimitri’s bowling hat, then ran into the TV room and turned on the TV.
No doubt he was ready to get Friday started.
19 months
Dear Dimitri,
This month you turned 19 months old. You are such a little sprite. Full of motion and energy, never sitting still for more than a minute or two at a time. (There’s so much to do, and see!)
You have taken to making us laugh. When you hear music that appeals to you, you do a little dance where you shake your bum and squat down and stand back up again, in quick...
Thank you
Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement about the “Dimitri discipline” incident last week. It made me feel better to know that other folks would have been offended in that situation too. I ended up seeing one of the girls again this weekend, and she was as nice as could be. I don’t think they had any clue that they were being borderline-rude — they were just...
Just a little venting
Please pardon the following venting session. I normally try to stay positive on the blog, but sometimes a girl’s just gotta vent.
Last night we went to a low-key dinner party hosted by a couple friend of ours. They had two other friends there that, like them, don’t have any kids. They also had one couple there who brought their 3-month-old baby girl.
Dimitri was invited so he came...
I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you...

Confession
Whenever anyone tells me “what a wonderful age” Dimitri is at right now and how I “need to enjoy it,” I want to leave work right that second and go home and love on him forever.

My little snow bunny!
Vacation has officially begun! We’re both taking off a week from work, and I’m excited to spend some quality time together.
I took off work early today, and Dimitri and I had a fun afternoon/evening together. We ate dinner together at the table, and he ate with both his fork and spoon — he gave me the biggest smile whenever he successfully landed a bite full of food into his...
Snowy morning
Snow has many great uses. Did you know you can:
1) stand in it
2) eat it
3) use it to your relieve your thirst
4) other things I can’t remember right now.
