My Bodhi Tree
Inspired by the author Gretchen Rubin, I have started keeping a daily one-sentence (or couple of sentences) journal about my favorite parts of the day. It also doubles as a gratitude journal, which Oprah says is a good idea. Most nights I pull out my journal and reflect on those small, but lovely memories I don’t want to forget. Usually the entries focus on Dimitri because he is being so funny these days.
When we’re older, I look forward to looking back and remembering some of these moments. And maybe Dimitri and his siblings will want to read it too.
Last night the entry was this:
Today, two favorites: When we danced together in the living room; and, after dinner, when you threw your bowl in the sink and it went clinkety-clink and you yelled, “Bye bye, bowl!” And then I picked you up and covered you in kisses.
